WHAT I DO

Product Management · Strategy · Delivery

[01]

PRODUCT STRATEGY

I define vision, goals and roadmaps aligned to business outcomes. I translate stakeholder needs into clear product direction — across B2B and B2C, from fintech to enterprise SaaS.

STRATEGY · ROADMAP

[02]

BACKLOG & PRIORITIZATION

I cut through noise to prioritize what actually moves the needle. I use frameworks like RICE, MoSCoW, and impact mapping to keep teams focused on what matters — and say no to what doesn't.

BACKLOG · PRIORITIZATION

[03]

DISCOVERY & RESEARCH

User interviews, market research, UX testing — I surface the insights that drive real product decisions. I've led discovery across fintech, telco, retail, education and enterprise SaaS.

AGILE DELIVERY

End-to-end delivery across cross-functional teams. Sprint planning, backlog grooming, stakeholder alignment, and shipping. I've trained 1,000+ employees in Agile methodology.

PLG FRAMEWORK

One engine I apply
to every product

01

ACQUIRE

Freemium, free trials, shareable outputs — users find the product through the product.

02

ACTIVATE

AHA moment in minutes. Onboarding drives real value fast — not after a week of training.

03

RETAIN

The product builds habit. Users return because they need to.

04

REVENUE

Feature gating, not sales pressure. Conversion when users already feel the value.

05

REFER

The product is better shared. Users bring more users. The loop closes itself.

THE FRAMEWORK

Product-Led Growth:
the product sells itself

PLG is a go-to-market strategy where the product is the primary driver of acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion. Slack, Figma, Notion and Dropbox all got here without a traditional sales team — the product did the selling.

[PLG-01]

NORTH STAR METRIC

One metric that captures the value delivered to users. Everything aligns to it. Slack: messages sent. Zoom: meeting minutes. This is the number I help teams find first.

STRATEGY

[PLG-02]

ACTIVATION MAPPING

Find the exact actions in the first 48h that predict 30-day retention. Then build onboarding around those moments — cohort analysis, not gut feeling.

ANALYTICS

[PLG-03]

FREEMIUM ARCHITECTURE

What to gate and what to give free is a design decision. The free tier must deliver real value while creating natural urgency to upgrade — not artificial pressure.

MONETIZATION

[PLG-04]

VIRAL LOOP DESIGN

Figma is free to collaborate — that's a viral loop baked into the core. Design the product to be better when shared. The incentive is functionality, not cash.

GROWTH

[PLG-05]

PQL SCORING

Know when a free user is ready to buy based on behavior inside the product — not whether they opened your email. Product Qualified Leads convert 3× better than MQLs.

CONVERSION

[PLG-06]

AI-POWERED ONBOARDING

Claude can personalize onboarding in real time. Every user takes a different path to their AHA moment — this is the new frontier of PLG, and I'm already building it.

LEADERSHIP · Jan 2021

THE THREE PILLARS OF EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP

Leadership is one of the most challenging yet rewarding soft skills a person can develop. While understanding theory is valuable, real-world application is what truly refines our ability to lead. It requires a high level of introspection and emotional intelligence — being able to step back, recognize successes and failures, and continuously improve.

A strong leader knows when to lead, when to follow, and how to enhance problem-solving within a team. I define leadership through three key pillars:

1. COMMUNICATE CLEARLY

Effective communication is the foundation of strong leadership. It's about striking the right balance in clarity, frequency, and assertiveness. Agile offers structured approaches: daily stand-ups for progress, retrospectives for reflection, sprint reviews to align with stakeholders. Feedback mechanisms like 360° reviews and one-on-ones create valuable introspection opportunities.

One of my preferred leadership models is Radical Candor — challenging directly (sharing honest feedback without arrogance) while caring personally (bringing humanity into professional interactions). Balancing both allows transparent discussions that tackle the elephant in the room without eroding morale.

2. MOTIVATE THE TEAM

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." — Cory Booker

Great leadership fosters collaboration, trust, and accountability. Show genuine interest in team members' growth. Cultivate psychological safety where ideas and concerns can be shared openly. Direct competition toward external goals rather than internal conflicts. A leader's job is not to micromanage — it's to trust the team, guide them, and create space for growth.

3. DELIVER RESULTS

Leadership is ultimately about outcomes. Align on clear goals, adapt when plans change, maintain accountability without stifling creativity. Agile supports results-driven work through iteration and continuous improvement. The key is balancing structure with flexibility.

"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often." — Winston Churchill

CREATIVITY · Jan 2021

ON FOSTERING CREATIVITY IN PRODUCT TEAMS

I believe creativity is one of the most valuable skills to cultivate — it integrates curiosity, flexibility, and design thinking to generate value from seemingly insignificant ideas. My studies in Canada reinforced that creativity is built on hard work, smart work, courage, and a bit of luck. It thrives in environments that encourage diversity, open communication, and a culture of empathy.

BARRIERS TO CREATIVITY

Creativity is hindered when there is only one "right" answer, when logic is overemphasized and dismisses unconventional solutions, or when rules are too rigid to allow exploration. A team that fosters creativity must embrace mistakes as an essential part of the iterative process.

HOW TO CULTIVATE IT

  • Foster genuine interest in the problem at hand
  • Ensure creative contributions are valued by leadership
  • Maintain childlike curiosity — approach problems with fresh eyes
  • Produce many ideas and then filter them effectively (Gary Hamel)

SOFT SKILLS TO BUILD IN YOUR TEAM

  • Creative thinking and design reasoning
  • Clear communication and active listening
  • Decision-making and evaluation
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Negotiation and leadership under pressure

Ultimately, a worthwhile goal is to create something truly original that endures. And that starts with making it safe to fail.

WHAT I LEARNED MANAGING PRODUCT ACROSS 4 INDUSTRIES

As a manager, your role extends beyond directing tasks — you are responsible for driving all aspects of team development. From fintech to telco to retail and education, the pattern is always the same: align on clear goals, adapt when plans change, and maintain accountability without stifling creativity.

WHAT CHANGES ACROSS INDUSTRIES

The domain changes. The vocabulary changes. The stakeholders change. The regulatory context changes. But the fundamentals don't: users have needs, businesses have goals, and your job is to find the overlap and ship toward it.

WHAT NEVER CHANGES

  • Prioritization is always hard and always necessary
  • Stakeholder alignment takes more time than you budget for
  • The best discoveries come from talking to actual users
  • Agile is a culture first — the ceremonies come second
  • Roadmaps are living documents, not contracts

ON RESULTS

Effective teams align on clear goals, adapt flexibly when plans change, and maintain accountability without stifling creativity. Agile supports results-driven work by emphasizing iteration and continuous improvement. The key: balance structure with flexibility — roadmap in place, but acknowledge that plans change.

UX · Jan 2021

UX DESIGN PRINCIPLES I APPLY TO EVERY PRODUCT

As digital technology evolves, so do our expectations of digital interactions. UX design focuses on crafting the "feel" of a product — ensuring interactions are intuitive, seamless, and meaningful. A UX designer's primary goal is to create products that provide value to users while maximizing overall impact.

WHAT MAKES A PRODUCT WORK

  • Useful — Simple, easy to use, designed with familiarity in mind
  • Usable — Addressing a real need in the user's life
  • Desirable — Visually appealing and capable of evoking positive emotions

HOW I APPLY THIS AS PM

Every product decision I make runs through these three filters. A feature that's technically sound but not useful to the user is waste. A flow that's usable but not desirable will lose to a competitor that cares about craft. UX is not a phase — it's a continuous lens applied from discovery through delivery.

At Elektra we delivered 900+ wireframes and 500+ interface screens in 3 months — only because we had clear UX principles guiding prioritization at every sprint.
